LAS VEGAS - The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority's (LVCVA) Purchasing Department has yet another award to add to its impressive list of distinctions. For the 17th consecutive year, the LVCVA is the recipient of the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award for 2012. The LVCVA has received this honor every year since the award's inception.
The LVCVA is among only five agencies in the state of Nevada to receive the award. It is also one of nearly 30 special districts in the nation to receive the honor.
The coveted award, which was created by the National Procurement Institute (NPI), recognizes organizational excellence in procurement. The LVCVA was selected based on innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity and leadership attributes of the procurement function.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) is charged with marketing Southern Nevada as a tourism and convention destination worldwide, and also with operating the Las Vegas Convention Center and Cashman Center.
