Devin Lewis

A Word from Our Leaders

Devin Lewis is the director of regional sales for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA). In her role, she helps position and promote Las Vegas and all of Clark County as the premier destination for convention and trade show business, working with show organizers, industry associations, government agencies, private sector corporations, and communities within the East Coast region of the United States.

Lewis brings more than 23 years of results-oriented sales and marketing experience in the attractions, entertainment and hospitality industries to her role at the LVCVA. With a “make it happen” attitude, she effectively and aggressively increases sales and helps businesses meet their goals. Prior to joining the LVCVA in 2011, she worked at Hilton Brands for six years in multiple senior sales roles across Los Angeles, Calif., and Washington, D.C.

Q&A with Devin Lewis


Where do you find inspiration to grow in your career? 

By nature, I am a people person, so developing a career in hospitality was a natural progression. I’m inspired to learn something new and meet someone new every day. It’s through connections and relationship building that growth occurs. This fosters sharing of resources and information. I started my career almost 25 years ago and am still in touch with many who I connected with in those startup years.

What makes you happy about working in the travel industry? 

Being able to experience different countries, cultures and areas of the world is what excites me most about the travel industry. Travel opens your eyes to view things beyond face value. Learning by doing is the best way to learn in my opinion. My bucket list is ever growing! 

If you can give some piece of advice to your peers, what would it be? 

Remember that you get out of life what you put into it. Get off the sidelines and get into the game. Find your passion and do something every day that connects you with that passion. And, treat people the way you want to be treated – with dignity and respect.

What are you hoping to achieve as a president of the largest MPI chapter? 

As the current president of the largest Meeting Professionals International (MPI) chapter, I hope to inspire new members to get involved in helping us to create a space that feels safe and welcoming. I hope to inspire members who have been around awhile, but don’t really participate in anything, to reengage. Personal touches are the key, and it is my desire to create that personal connection with all of my members.

How do you see Las Vegas evolving in the future? 

Las Vegas is ever evolving, which is why it’s the No. 1 destination in the world. There are so many things available in close proximity. Las Vegas is the perfect location for a blended business/pleasure trip. We have many options for meetings and conferences of different sizes – there is no “one size fits all” in Las Vegas – every experience can be customized for the individual or group. You will never run out of things to do, restaurants to visit, or activities to experience. It’s what I love most about the destination.
